South Coast Championship Event for 2006

Shadowfax entered the first day of the first Series of the Royal
Southern Summer Regatta and we were thoroughly impressed by the
organisation on and off the water.
The format is 2 races starting in the central Solent and following a
navigational course lasting 1.5 - 2 hours. We raced under irc5 and the
Sigma 33 handicap can't be that bad as we won both races on the water
and on handicap!
After the event there was the opportunity to meet in the club house and
have a beer and burger and the Royal Southern were most welcoming, we
then went out in the Hamble for a quiet night on Rum and Coke!
The format is certainly conducive to good one design racing, practice
for Cowes and provides the opportunity to get together after racing.
Entry is a piece of cake; just log onto their web site and fill in the
form

I would certainly encourage other Sigma's to enter the June event which
takes place on the 24th and 25th (Unfortunately at the moment we can
only do the Sunday). The club has their Mid Summer Ball Afterwards, to
which crews are invited
We
need your support, if we get 6 or more Sigma's we will get our own
results 8 or more and I may be able to get our own start!
Come and join in!!!
